ER Docs Out Of BCBS Network Plan At In-Network Hospital.
ByThe Columbia Daily Tribune (1/20/12) “Charting Health” blog reports, “Patients treated in the emergency department at Boone Hospital will get two different bills if they have a Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance plan.” This has “been the case since Aug. 27 after the continuation of care clause expired for local providers who did not agree to new contracts with Anthem BC/BS.” That’s because “Emergency Physicians of Mid Missouri PC, the contracted provider for emergency room services at Boone Hospital, was among the local providers that left the Anthem network.”
